Good work.
I like it!
One of the fastest viewers I found  :D

Suggestions : If the current file position could be restored in the viewer when reloading a file it would be less anoying finding the last viewed text again. An option like "Auto reload when file changes" with a configuarable interval would make your Win32Pad the perfekt tool viewing 'hot' logfiles (view log files while they are still flooded by the logged application).

"current file position"

Don't know that that would actually be a feature I might want?

Though it may be a worthwhile, & should be easy to implement?, after all, the MRU's are already being stored.

Now that you've given us Favorites, I was going to suggest a drag & drop method to move them into the position we wanted.

But, as they are stored in win32pad.ini, it should be easy enough to edit that file (outside of win32pad!), placing the name in the desired order.

This build has one small(ish) bug. In all previous builds, if I changed the colors of the text and the background, they would be updated upon okay-ing the changes. But in 1.5.6, this doesn't happen until I close Win32Pad and restart it. Worse, yet until I do I get black text and a washed out background color.

Other than that bug, it's a good build.

***bug***

I use T.Chinese input,
1.5.6 can't save and open Chinese fonts only,
but it can work if spacebar between the fonts.

E-mail me the colors selected... and screenshot of the problem.

[Config]
Font=Fixedsys
dwEffects=0
CharSet=0
FontSize=220
BackColor=16744448
FontColor=16777215

I almost don't see the cursor...  can we select a block cursor?  It's very thin now.  Also, why the cursor os not the color of the font?

Sorry to take so long to reply, but I have not been able to replicate the problem. Apparently, it was due to something in Windows XP's prefetch. It's now responding but for future refererence, I encoutered the problem using browns, oranges, and sage-greens for the text against a pale blue background.

There is a bug which persists since 1.5.5 (don't know if it was there in earlier versions).

You open a file in win32pad - in my case, this is a list of words, one word per line (a synspellcheck dictionary) - and then you go to somewhere in the middle of a file and want to insert a word. You place the cursor at the end of one line, hit enter, but on this new line the cursor is not at the beginning on the line, but indented at about 10 spaces. This happens only once after you open the file, - after that, all line insertions are OK.

Turn off auto-indent.
