General News

I live in NY and I was in my car listening to the radio when the first building came down. At that time I already called the office telling them I am staying home. I work in NJ so for me it's a daily commute to/from work. It's been pretty hard last couple of days watching what's going on in the city where I live and trying to go on with work, life, etc.. I have gotten numerous phone calls from various people that I know asking whether I was ok, and some people spoke w/ me online. There are a number of people that work in the area of where this happened and they seem to be allright. I also heard various stories from people that work in midtown Manhattan and how they managed to either walk over the bridge after work or spend the night in a shelter and come back to work the next day. I also heard various stories of people that worked in the building or were starting their jobs in the building(s), but somehow were not there when the whole thing happened. It seems that the city is recovering and trying to get back to normal w/ the start of next week.

On a bright note, I have been slowly working on win32get and trying to do some testing and fix various small things as I find them. I am also going to start asking people to help me BETA test win32get once I have something that I belive is worth beta testing. At this point I have HTTP/FTP basic downloading working and you can enter/paste URL and it will try to download it. I am currently working on adding various small features here and there. One of the things that I am going to try to do is to add Authentication dialog (right now it parses the URL for login/password). Also only FTP currently has login/passwd handling. Once I have the dialog done I'll add HTTP authentication. Also visitors should note that I have released win32pad a couple of days ago. If there are any issues w/ win32pad please post them in our forums. Also if you want to beta test win32get please post in the Forum. I might actually create a thread where people can sign up for beta testing.
